The name of Onyx Support, developed from the protection stone ‘Black Onyx’, meaning to ‘absorb and transform negative energy and help to prevent the drain of personal energy. Black Onyx aids the development of emotional and physical strength and stamina, especially when support is needed during times of fear, stress, confusion or grief’.

Our counsellors can support individuals suffering from emotional distress or experiencing poor mental health but also welcome individuals who seek minor support. All individuals are welcome to access the services provided by Onyx Support, regardless of age, sexual orientation, gender, race, ethnicity, physical or mental health condition and religious beliefs. You have the option and flexibility of method for your sessions, which you can change at any time.

Counsellors are flexible in times and days to support you whilst you manage your own commitments. We offer late evening and weekend sessions if necessary. The amount of sessions you wish to have is of your personal choice and you do not have to subscribe to an exact amount of sessions. However, individuals and couples usually benefit from at least two to three sessions.

We also offer workplace based workshops to support with mental health improvement of staff, to reduce absenteeism and improve staff morale.

Training, qualifications & experience

All of our counsellors are fully qualified and have extensive training in specialist areas. We have carefully checked for each individuals experience, professional membership, DBS and professional indemnity insurance. Counsellors at Onyx Support are consistently developing their knowledge and skills through regular independent research and partaking in CPD.

Individual Therapy (Children/Adults): £45 per 60 minute session

Couples Therapy: £65 per 90 minute session

Family Systemic therapy: £65 per 90 minute session

Parent Support Session: £45 per 50 minute session
